It’s so unfortunate as Nigerians mourns the sudden death of Izu Joseph , The President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has sent his condolences following the death of NPFL defender Izu Joseph on Saturday after he was killed by a soldier.
Pinnick called the father of Izu who narrated the tragic circumstances that led to his son’s death. The NFF chair advised all Nigerian footballers to mind the company they keep as they are special assets.
Pinnick said to theNFF.com : “I am sorely distraught with what has happened. It is a most unfortunate incident that has brought sorrow to the Nigerian football family, barely a week after celebrating victory in a World Cup qualifying match.
“What has happened is most painful. I want to appeal to our football players to always be mindful of the company they keep and the places they go at all times, because they are special assets. At the end of the day, each and everyone of us will die, but we don’t want to be losing football players in the manner in which Izu Joseph has died.”
